Catch up on the highlights from the 2nd International Conference and the 11th Congress of the Entomological Society of Indonesia (ICCESI), a pivotal event held at the Santika Hotel in Padang. This year’s conference, hosted by ESI and UNAND, revolved around the theme ‘Mitigation of Climate Change through Beneficial Insect Utilization to Support Sustainable Ecosystem and Food Security.’ Experts from various fields gathered to share their knowledge and explore innovative ways to combat climate change and promote food security through the use of beneficial insects.
Nadiyah Hidayati, S.P., M.Sc., a graduate student in Master in Pest Science at UGM, has achieved remarkable success by winning the Best Young Researcher II award at the XXVII National PFI Seminar. Her success extends beyond academic achievements and encompasses a range of extracurricular activities that have inspired her fellow students.
Nadiyah has demonstrated extraordinary perseverance in pursuing knowledge and development in the field of plant pest science. Her high level of dedication is reflected in her academic accomplishments and participation in research and projects relevant to her field of study. With her creativity, Nadiyah has reached various milestones that motivate and have a positive impact on those around her.
This joint effort in Wonosobo Regency involves the Directorate of Horticultural Protection, Semarang Class I Agricultural Quarantine Center, Central Java LPHP, POPT, and IHT lecturers, alumni, and master’s students. The collaboration focuses on pest and natural enemy surveillance to better understand and manage the agricultural ecosystem.
