The Master in Pest Science program UGM was established in 1980/1981 and was confirmed by Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No. 580/DIKTI/Kep/1993 under the Postgraduate Faculty, Gadjah Mada University. Since the 2007/2008 academic year based on the UGM Chancellor’s Decree on Monodisciplinary Postgraduate Program Number 89/P/SK/HT/2006, the Master in Pest Science Program is under the Department of Plant Pests and Diseases (HPT) Faculty of Agriculture UGM. The name of the study program was confirmed based on the Decree of the Chancellor of Universitas Gadjah Mada Number 1718/UN1.P/SK/Hukor/2017 Concerning the Naming of Study Programs in Universitas Gadjah Mada.
The Master in Pest Science program UGM is implemented according to the Decree of Rector UGM No 1763/UN1.P/SK/HUKOR/2017 Year 2017, with credit system measured in Satuan Kredit Semester (SKS, Credit Semester Unit). The study load ranged 40 – 50 credits, consists of lectures, seminar, and research thesis. Students have to take 11 credits of compulsory courses, minimum 16 and maximum 26 credits of elective courses, 1 credit of graduate seminar and 12 credits of proposal seminar, comprehensive examination, research, thesis manuscript, and final examination. 1 credit consists of 50 minutes lecture, 50 minutes academic activity and 50 minutes private study. Scientific publication is a graduation requirement based on the Chancellor’s Regulation No. 11 of 2016.
