The Interest and Talent Department (MIKAT) of the Plant Pests and Diseases Student Association (IMHPT) has once again ignited the spirit of sportsmanship through its flagship program, “Mens Sana in Corpore Sano,” commonly known as MENSANA. This program serves as a platform for Plant Protection students to pursue their hobbies and unwind from the demands of academic life.
The program is designed not merely as an opportunity to break a sweat, but also as a means for Plant Protection students to connect with students from another study program — Agricultural Microbiology. The MIKAT Department regularly facilitates fun games and routine training sessions across various sports disciplines to ensure that the interests and talents of Plant Protection students are well-accommodated.
For this edition, the MIKAT Department sought to present a MENSANA experience unlike any before. This time, the MIKAT Department of IMHPT collaborated with the MIKAT Department of the Agricultural Microbiology Student Association (PERMAHAMI), which runs a similar program known as MICMAN. As a result, this edition of MENSANA was attended not only by Plant Protection students, but also by students from the Agricultural Microbiology program.
“We want to create a space where HPT friends can develop their interests and talents. Beyond that, this activity is the most exciting way to strengthen the bonds between departments and foster greater solidarity,” said Ghossan, the person in charge of Mens Sana in Corpore Sano.
“MENSANA X MICMAN was so much fun. If there’s another futsal session, I’d definitely be in,” shared Eza, a student from the Microbiology Department.
By facilitating regular sports activities, the Interest and Talent Department (MIKAT) helps students maintain their physical fitness and mental well-being — values that align with the effort to ensure healthy lives for people of all ages, in accordance with SDG No. 3: Good Health and Well-Being. The MIKAT Department remains committed to sustaining the consistency of the Mens Sana in Corpore Sano program, continually growing and introducing new innovations. This shared sporting experience is hoped to become the most anticipated event among Plant Protection students — a space to nurture their interests and talents through sportsmanship and a strong sense of togetherness.
