March 12, 2022. The Pest Study Group, Master of Plant Pest Science, UGM hosted the Alumni Interaction: Exchange Program to Japan. Ilmam Zul Fahmi, a JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization) awardee and Master of Plant Pest Sciences alumni, hosted the event. He explained the registration process, the registration flow, the campus location, the campus facilities, campus life, housing, and research activities.

In addition, he shared some good tips on how to prepare research plan proposals and proposal presentations for the registration interview. It becomes more valuable to be considered by the interviewer.

The researchers experienced the rapid change of seasons while conducting their research. “Tips for collecting and rearing insects after arriving there (autumn), so that research can be conducted during the winter.”

In addition, he provided extra information to avoid field research and instead focus on laboratory research. If the course credits are incomplete when you register, communicate with the Head of Study Program regarding courses that can be transferred to the study program later.

In addition, he also gave other tips to avoid field research and focus more on laboratory research. If the course credits are incomplete when registering, consult with the Head of Study Program regarding courses that can later be transferred to Indonesia.

He thinks that the exchange program is the opportunity to gain experience.
